Buffalo Catholic Cemeteries takes great pride in the maintenance and constant improvement of our cemeteries. We encourage families to express their love and respect with decorations.

Grave Decoration Guidelines

1.)  Certain monument sections in the Cemetery may have planting privileges. Please check with the Cemetery office for more information. In-ground plantings are not permitted on lawn level memorial graves.

2.) Due to the possible hazards they may cause to employees and visitors, the placing of chairs, toys, shells, chips, gravel, trellises and similar articles will not be permitted

3.) Artificial decorations mounted on upright supports, those constructed on wire, wood or plastic that stand above ground, are not permitted during the grass cutting season.

4.) American flags may be placed on Veterans’ graves 24 hours prior to and removed within 48 hours after the following designated holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, and Veteran’s Day. A family may choose to place the flag in an approved pot for the summer season as long as it is off the ground and properly maintained.

Crypt/Niche Decoration Guidelines

1.) One artificial floral may be placed on the floor in front of the crypt on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day

  • Veteran's Day
  • Easter Sunday
  • All Soul's Day
  • Mother's & Father's Day

2.) Birthdays and anniversaries may also be observed by notifying the cemetery office and receiving a tag to place on the artificial floral arrangement identifying the special occasion. Floral arrangements may be placed three (3) days prior to and one (1) day after the holiday or special occasion, five (5) days in succession.

3.) In lieu of the above policy, you have the option to enroll in a special vase and flower program offered by the Cemetery to be placed on the individual crypt or niche front. Please contact the Cemetery office for more information.
